I've been enjoying this so far, but the charged bow seems to be going for a visual innuendo that I really don't appreciate. Is there an option to... not make the arrows look like an erect penis coming from the crotch instead of the hands?
As for your question, I assure you, any innuendo is entirely an accident. The arrow is floating simply because I lacked the art skills to do anything more elaborate when I made this game.
I will leave a note to look into changing it, in case I find time to release a new patch.
Game misidentified my wireless Xbox Elite Controller as a Bluetooth LE device, causing the Start and Back buttons not to register, rendering the inventory and settings inaccessible since having a detected controller also disables all keyboard input.
Please allow keyboard input while a controller is connected, at the very least for menu access. Also, rather than having the arrow keys and escape key nonfunctional, could you just permanently bind them to menu access? Separate issue, but on first launching the game, it is entirely unclear how to navigate the menu with a keyboard. Enter does nothing, arrow keys do nothing, who uses WASD in menus?
Edit: never mind, you can’t. Just something for people to be aware of, then!
Edit 2: my computer actually misidentified my controller. Luckily the game lets you override it, once you power off the controller and then wait a sec for the game to switch to keyboard control.
Thanks for playing, and sorry you ran into issues. I have actually updated the code-base behind the scenes, and if I ever have enough free time to do a proper update the number one thing will be entirely replacing my janky custom input code. No definitive plans though.
In the meantime, I hope the keyboard controls work all right for you. :)
maybe i'm not paying full attention, but i just entered deep city and i need to fight last before i go to the dragon bog, but i straight up only get damaged by him? i'll keep investigating but i'm a bit stuck there and would appreciate a hint if possible. thanks, loving the game so far!
Hi! Glad you're having fun. I'm happy to give a bit of help.
1) That fight with Last before Dragon Bog requires you to use Revelation.
2) Kithen Fortress is very confusing, admittedly. You'll have to backtrack a few times, as certain laser terminals open other paths. If you'd like, I have a speedrun video here (spoilers of course). The route for Kithen Fortress doesn't use any exploits so you could follow along to find the next step. I don't recommend using this video for any of the other dungeons though.

I know you said not to, but that speedrun video has been helping me quite a lot (like when i just can't figure out what to do), so i really appreciate that. however i'm fighting the sand worm/leviathan in the desert and when i try to kill the head (after killing the eyes on the rest of the body), the game crashes and i get this error:
Aw, sorry to see that there is a crash here. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what's causing it and I'm no longer able to support the game (the code is far too out of date) so I can't fix it. It might not happen if you try again, hard to say. What it drops is not necessary to beat the game.
yeah i tried beating the worm about 3 times and it crashed every time. maybe i'll try again eventually. but yeah, i realized it doesn't drop something essential. just reached the hidden conclave; about to go and fight last at obsidian fortress! i'm super excited and i've been loving this game. thanks for all your replies and helpful hints!
I'm finding that I seem to go about things in the "wrong" order, and that sometimes gets me irrevocably stuck. Mostly, this seems to happen when I see the obvious path and think, "but maybe there's a secret over here..." Then, I end up finding what seems like an unintended path and having no way to get back. Save often, people! :)
Hi! So Caligo doesn't actually do anything at all, the puzzle I had planned never ended up in the game. But I left the NPC in the game anyways. You are not the first person to be confused by that. Sorry about that.
just defeated him. now time for skull dungeon. despite my good old tome finding it is quite hard. following the green dots often leads to dead ends, now I'm at some 2 laterns. but I disappear when i walk along the path between them. guess I missed a split somewhere again :-/
also, you know at some screen on the overword you simply cant go up. is that intentional? it's right before you enter the ruins with the glass automaton guardian.
okay, I am now at the skull dungeon. somehow trial and errored my way out of the part before. made it to the boss there but as soon as the fight is about to start, I get this error:

Yeah, the invisible barriers are just places that aren't in the game yet. They'll go somewhere soon.
The crash at Drake Soma-Sor is actually patched in version 3.0.1. If you download the most recent version here you should be able to fight him. Your save file will transfer with no issues. I fixed that about a day ago, but I didn't actually post a devlog about it.

You can sell the special items to merchants for gems, or give them to Arthur in Deep City to get rewards.

And where is the dude who wanted these bird mushrooms? I can't seem to find him again.

The double mystery novel is a glitch that happens sometimes. Unfortunately, there's no way to get rid of the second one. Sorry!
The bird mushroom NPC is at the top right of Deep City, but he only shows up at night (off the top of my head, I'm only 90% sure on that one).
Oh, well. I guess I'll just do with one slot less.
